Our mission is to provide our products and services to the community, surrounding communities and the world.

We focus on providing quality over quantity along with brand name quailty usable products for all your sewing and crafting needs. We supply basic supplies along with other more specialized products. We may even have that hard to find product once in a while.

Our sewing services are nothing short of excellent. Nothing leaves the shop without looking professional, including jean patches. Some consider us miracle workers or life savers we just do the best we can to make your items look great.

Nelson Sewing & Crafts officially opened in 2007, however, the owner, Nancy Nelson, has been sewing for more than 20 years.

My business was originally created back in my college days when I would sew for people to earn extra money. While that has been slightly over a decade ago, my sewing experience goes back much farther.

Let me take you to the early 1980's in military family housing in what was then West Germany. I was just 13 years old when I asked my mom to teach me how to sew. I wanted to make a complete outfit which included a jacket and dress. Being 13, and try as I might, I cannot recall if I even ever wore that outfit. Well . . . maybe I did, at least once.

I've come a long way since that first outfit. We all have to start somewhere. Now I sew as a professional and enjoy every last minute of it. I have developed a love for sewing that borders on the obsessive, not unlike that of my husband's hunting obsession.

My favorite parts of sewing are the challenges that some projects present and the "I knew I could do it" feeling once I conquer those challenges. I love to work on sewing projects until they are just right, which for you, translates into quality workmanship.

I am never satisfied with what I know and continually try to learn new and better techniques and skills. I rarely have a conversation with a fellow seamstress or crafter where I don't come away with a new piece of information for improving my skills.

My dream for this website is not only to help my business to continue to grow, but to be a great resource for others to learn about sewing and crafting. I want it to be fun and user friendly. So much so, that you will want to bookmark this site and visit me as often as your completed projects will allow.

My site won't be all business. We live in a small and friendly community where it seems like you know everybody, but it is big enough that you really don't. Don't be surprised to find some community links as well as some fun things from my family. It'll be as if you walked into my shop and we began chatting.
